Hey there from ATX

Hey there, I live in Austin, TX. I have a Bianchi and a Schwinn and am trying to learn more about bike maintenance and customization.

My last project was putting on new handle bars, gear and brake cables & housing for the Bianchi, and now I'm hoping to convert the Schwinn to a single-speed bike (with a steampunk time travel theme) in time to bring it to Flipside (which is a local Burning Man-style event).

I'm attaching photos of my bikes, which, in addition to the bus, are my primary means of transportation around here. I found the Schwinn on bulk pickup day and my brother-in-law gifted me the Bianchi.

Howdy. Those both look like worthy projects. That Schwinn is halfway there to steampunk already. Don't forget the de riguer pathracer handlebars and cork or wood grips.

Have fun.

Oh, good idea, thanks. I have straight handlebars from the Bianchi that I was going to use, but pathracer style sounds fun.
