I'm Dave - forum name TNDave and live in Knoxville TN. Have been a long time lurker here when I transitioned from mountain bikes to road riding on my Gary Fisher hybrid. Once I hit 35 I THOUGHT mountain bike wrecks were just too painful, so I started riding the hybrid on the greenways and some road riding. Then I had my first big wreck and it was FAR worse than any mountain bike accident I had ever had. Messed up my shoulder, the normal road rash, yadda yadda yadda. Still get a little jittery when I come to the same set of RR tracks.

Recently I was looking for a project and was thinking I would get an old steel bike and convert it to a single speed. Bought a Schwinn World Sport at a garage sale and started tinkering and posting here with questions, and then somehow ended up in the Classice & Vintage part of the board and it jumped out and Grabbed me good! I have since found a 1974 Raleigh Lady's Sport at a junk shop for $20 that I am fixing up for my wife and am now constantly looking for bikes to fix up and ride or flip.

I have the C&V bug BAD now, and love looking at, reading about, riding, working on, and fixing up old bikes. The tips here have been awesome and things that are so easy, work so good, and I would NEVER have thought of, much less thought they would work!

This forum has kept me up WAY later than I need to be for the last month or so, but I'm lovin' every minute of it!
