Greetings from Japan

Please forgive my shakey entrance into the world of computer forums (this is my first time!). I'm a British national currently living and working as an English teacher in Japan. I've always been a keen sportsman and I've recently started getting into the world of triathlons and duathlons. My local area has only one each of these events but my fellow expatriate friend and I train fairly religiously for these. I fill out the rest of the sporting year with a variety of long distance runs, hiking, and running mountain bike tours in the very beautiful local countryside. Now at 38, it is great to see so many... shall we say past their prime....athletes still giving it their all.

Anyway, I hope my comments will become gradually more insightful as I adapt to the way of the forum.

Best wishes to all for 2005 from an old technology dinosaur.

Hi,

Whereabouts in Japan are you?

You may want to contact our member, Spire. He's currently a Canadian living in Japan (from the last I saw). He's big into riding...

Welcome to the forums, man!

I hope you can post on a regular basis. I see articles that suggest a very high percentage of Japanese adults ride bikes, both for commuting and recreation. It would be nice to have "first hand" reports on the cycling in Japan.
