From Central California
Hi all -
I've traveled overseas a number of times but never done any serious cycling - now, early retired I am trying to get out of my funk & hit the road. I admit I have become a comfort creature, plus I love my dogs... it'll be difficult to leave them - but I do want to go back to Europe & see it from the perspective of a bicycle. My plan is to use public transportation mainly, and haul a folding bicycle with me - most likely a Brompton - and a back pack, just arrive in the vicinity by train or bus and not be stuck on foot, which is how I've done it in the past.
Already asked a few questions - thanks to all who have answered -

Thankyou ! From what I can figure, it's like everything else in life - a trade off - a folder beats walking, plus you have portability - which is essential in my case. These guys seem to make a folder work: https://pathlesspedaled.com/
I've looked into outfitting a bike with S & S couplers https://www.sandsmachine.com/ but that won't do me when it's time to hop on a train or bus. Plus I don't plan on long distance touring or racing, so what the hey
