Way back old school starting over

I bought my Raleigh Record back in the mid-80's, rode it for several years, and I am starting to refurbish it. I didn't have much choice...I have been a runner for nearly 4 decades but a few years back I developed plantar fasciitis in both feet. Since I can't run anymore, I tried a little biking on my wife's old bike and it seems to do me a lot of good and no harm. I dug out my old Record and now I'm gonna try to refurbish it (and me, too)!

Welcome aboard, come on over to classic and vintage for anything to do with your bike, even just showing it off! There's also a 50+ forum if that interests you as well.

You developed PF out of nowhere after 40 years of running?! No change in shoes, change in training (volume/intensity/etc), anything else that would make sense to bring it on? Well, welcome aboard, I think you'll find that the cycling and running communities have a lot in common. You'll fit in well, I'm sure!

PF can get ya; it got me when I hit 40. Biking has been just fine for me since then, you can always regulate how much wear and tear your feet vs. your bum takes. Only better workout for bad-feet guys like us is swimming. Gotta pool? No? Me neither. A bike is less maintenance anyway.
