Bike Forums - Hi y'all

Hi all,

I'm new here and new to roadbiking as well -just started about 3 weeks ago. Bought a beater Cannondale bike as a starter, liked it, and a few days later, bought myself a CAAD8. I've tried several bike trails around south and east bay area and so far, I've been enjoying the ride tremendously. I never imagined I'd be riding on bikes for miles, but I'm really hooked this time. I've ridden mountain bikes and BMX and I can say the longest I've ridden in those is about 4 miles, so I was elated when in my first ride, I biked for 8 miles, then the usual body ache, two days later, I rode for 18 miles and I couldn't be happier. Small goal for some, but it means so much to me.

Oh, by the way, I'm pretty handy with bikes, so I've been doing the tune ups, adjustments and upgrades myself -I can't do wheel truing yet though :). Hope to learn from all if you pro, and if you have a tip or two to send me, please do so. I ride mostly in the Fremont CA area, by the Alameda creek, so wave hi when you see me pass by :)
