Riding Gazelle AA Special

Hallo my Cycle Friends,

I discovered this forum when I was looking for an early 21th century Gazelle Special with Reynolds Trapezi tubing.
You could call me Gazelle freak concerning riding Gazelle racing bicycles (I think I am one of the last cyclists in our Dutch touring club ATV Ruiten Drie riding a Gazelle AA Special).
I started with this sport 25 years ago (1987) as a spin off of training for speed skating.
My frist bicycle was a second hand red Reyleigh with Reynolds 501 tubing.
I found it not stiff anough and within 2 years (1989) it was replaced by a Gazelle Champion Mondial Reynolds 531 AB frame and fitted with Shimano 600, I think with the first index system in the right commander.
This bicycle was exchanged (1994) for a Gazelle Champion Mondial AA Special with 531C tubing and fitted with Shimano Ultegra 2*8.
In 2001 the frame went back to the Gazelle factory for refurbishment. It was painted according to the latest styling of the Gazelle Special traditionally built but of course without Trapezi tubing. I fitted it with Shimano Ultegra 6500 (triple).

Recently I started to try to find and purchase one of the youngest Gazelle Specials with Reynolds 531C Trapezi tubing which is not so easy. I think Gazelle stopped to build these frames around 2005.
All my bicycles were size 64cm but since I am shrinking a bit (because of aging) it should be a 62 or 63 frame (I am not sure 63cm was not built since Gazelle did not offer "odd" sizes above 62cm).
So, if somebody knows a 62/63 cm Gazelle Special with 531C Trapezi tubing in a good state and in a nice colour combination please let me know.

Welcome to Bike Forums.

I did a quick search on and came up with quite a few Gazelles across the US, but didn't see any Specials. Good luck with your search. I hope you find what you're looking for.
If at first you don't succeed, Skydiving is not the sport for you!
