Handlebar advice
 

Hey all,

I'm pretty new to the whole forum thing so be gentle. I have a Carrera Subway ladies bike, which I love but I was wondering if it is possible to change handlebars on this sort of bike. I’m looking to get the more road like handlebars with the under curve. I would have to get a new stem for this I believe to mount the handlebars but is this even advised? as how would I mount the brake leavers and gears? I have SRAM speed triggers if that helps...

Please let me know if this is something that is possible to change or whether it's a case of keeping the straight handlebars.

It is possible, but may cost more then the entire bike.
You may have to change the brakes, cables and shifting controls.

As 10 Wheels, it's not worth the cost, the Subways are nice bikes, but just to get the shifters will be over a third the cost of the orginal bike, if yours has discs, you will need new calipers, as the calipers won't work with the STI levers, the same would apply for v-brakes, drop bars, new cables, etc, the cost of your ideal will soon be more than the original cost of the bike.
