New to here and to Sacramento
Time to stop lurking--I'm finally purchasing a bicycle of my own and have to thank you for the silent support in choosing one. Been without for six years in the wilds of Ireland, and before that standing up in Sweden to pedal a borrowed old Monark with a frozen seatpost set for a 6'2" male, and far before that on a Christmas department store special which mimicked a road bike. After all the walking done in the interim, owning a bike will be a return to luxury.
What else to say? American despite all that, and female, and like that cat I'm named after, unlikely to answer the first time you call. (My usual user name was taken, back in '08 it appears. Shout at me a few times and I'll remember who I'm supposed to be.) For the past few years my occupation has been 'waiting for residency of one sort or another'. I sew clothing, I identify birds, I play antiquated MMOs, I smile and nod when my husband and his friends discuss distros.
And if you're the cyclist who swooshed past a red mountain bike at Elk Grove & Franklin while shouting "on the left", thanks for not running over the noob. I still have to de-attunate my cycling ears from listening for a ping bell and switch over to English even though that's my thinking language. Go figure.
