Hi from SoCal beachtown
I plan to start road biking for fitness, and I already XC mountain bike a lot. I know some about MTB, but diddly squat about road biking, so I will appreciate any advice and encouragement you want to throw my way. I'm trying to decide what kind of Trek road bike I want, entry level for now. I have no idea whether I'll like road biking or not. Lots of riders come to my town to road bike and mountain bike, so I know the area is conducive. Skinny tires here I come ... Thanks.

Hey Loudwaters,
Welcome to Bike Forums. The forward lean on a road bike is most benifical for riders with back problems. |
10 Wheels, that's contrary to CW ... at least for those with lumbar problems ... but hey, Galveston County has zero mountains, so I guess you have to lean way forward on your bike to simulate a descent. Just kidding.

Loudwaters: Welcome to the forum. I agree with 10 Wheels. I had lower back problems three years ago. Needed a special chair for my desk and couldn't sit in a standard office chair for more than an hour without a lot of discomfort. Now that I ride daily on my road bike my back pain is gone. Maybe it's in my mind. I think my mom was a hypochondriac so there is always that to consider....... :giver:
