New Rider and looking for some advice

Hello everyone,

I am looking for a little advice, I want to get more into cycling and I sold my mountain bike and hybrid. I am now looking for a nice road bike. A guy want to sell me a Trek 1600 SLR for $700. It has the drivetrain is Shimano Ultega. Is it worth it? Purchased in '09 but the bike is an '07 from the trek website.

Thoughts?

Buy a new one and get a warranty.

The bike was only $1200 new. Offer $400 tops or keep looking.

10 Wheels has a good suggestion if a new bike isn't out of your price range.

Welcome to BF. I would also suggest you stop by the Road forum. They'll be a wealth of information and opinions!
