hey folks just signed up. i have been using this forum for info for a while now and realized i have not even resisted.
i have been riding canal trails here in Ohio for awhile and wanted to get into touring with my brother but he had to move for work
recently so that got shot. I already bought a Surly LHT for that and commuting to work then wondered about rebuilding bikes.
so i scoped out second hand stores and yard sales and came up with some projects.
71 huffy ten speed with shimano eagle and gto parts ( heavy POS
) wife found this one i prob wouldn't have bought it but it is the thought that counts.
80 Schwinn voyageur 11.8 got it for $4
at church sale pretty much all there ( it is stripped and ready for paint and parts transplant ).
83 Ross super gran tour xv with all arabesque 600 parts. got it at a yard sale.( they are going on 11.8 cuz it is much cooler bike
).
some old UMF with 26" wheels it will be torn down this winter and ready for spring ( i hope
).
11' Surly LHT with 26" wheels great bike and love riding it. it was last year for good parts now they have cheaped it up now. but still a great bike i might get a Pacer if i can't find a good old vintage steel light weight 700c bike.
trek 3500 nothing special just a MTB.
