Pacific NorthWET native.

Well, not so wet this week. Been in the 20's! Love riding to work in the chill morning, 4am the roads are pretty quiet.

Anyway... Who am I?

Almost 50, been riding in some capacity since I was 15. I've owned many bikes, and my stable is currently at 8... I think. 3 Softrides (2 road, 1 track/SS), one ti tri bike, one vintage Javelin Xframe retro-aero, a SS MTB that I keep at work for lunchtime offroad rides, a Scott Waimea that I keep on the trainer set up as a road bike, and my latest acquisition -- a Surly Cross Check which is my commuter/urban assault bike (and soon to be gravel road rider).

I've raced USCF road and track, done some off-road stuff, tri since college... I'm a part-time mechanic at a local bike shop, and make my living as an engineer for "a large commercial airplane manufacturer". Love everything about the bike.

My goal this year is to start frame building, and most of my time on these-here forums will be spent in that area. I've got three frames to cut up for practice brazing...

So... Hi!

Hi David,

Welcome to Bike Forums from Texas.

Welcome from the dry side of the state :D. With a son and daughter-in-law in Oly, we get over there a bit though.

Cool that you're going to get into fabricating. I've gas & electric welded and brazed for eons but have not tried my hand at bicycles yet. My goal for retirement is to get a new welder so that I can give TIG a go. Someday . . . .

Boeing? Never heard of them. :p
