I'm back in the saddle...
I've been off the bike for almost 20 years. (18 actually. The same amount of time I've been married. Coincedence? I don't think so).
Health issues forced me to start exercising so I looked to restart something I did in my reckless and carefree youth.
Man how things have changed!. Clip in shoes, SRAM shifters, (Electric if I wanted!), carbon fibre and the costs!
I paid almost as much for a set of pedals (admittedly expensive ones) as I did my 1st 'real' bike.
I started riding with a local shop and just about died from exahustion. then I discovered a big club that rides Saturday AM that starts about 1.5 miles from my home.
I've been moving up in the groups. Last weekend we did 50 miles. I had no problem. I never really road with groups before and I must say this is alot more relaxing or interesting.
I'm looking forward to this summer. the rides should will get longer and more challenging.
I'm NOT looking forward to riding in 100 degree weather.
I hope to pick up some tips here.
thanks
Kevin

Hey Kevin,
Welcome to Bike Forums
Got in 333 miles last week.
Look around jump in and ask questions.
To beat the heat and humidly I ride early with lights and get back home about 11 AM.
