Newbie looking to put together first bike conversion kit - Dublin
Hey all,
Am from Dublin, Ireland. Am hoping to buy a battery and conversion kit for a new bike which I have yet to buy.... Hoping to have made a final decision on bike/kit/battery in the next few days. I've been reading LOTS of your forums - they are fantastic!
So here's the scenario....
Bike will be for commuting 15 miles each way to/from work. Commute is 95% completely flat (but mostly coastal - so can get windy!). Am looking for a combination of power, speed, portability (take on train in rally bad weather)...
I have been considering 24" fold ups, but they're not the easiest to find over here... and I want to use the cycle to work scheme when purchasing... I could probably order any bike I like but have been told bikes with the 24" wheeled Dahons etc can be hard to replace parts etc... Bromptons are just too small (16" wheel) I think for the 15 mile commute (Pity as I love them!).
Have been thinking about Montague Paratrooper or similar (fold up 26" wheeled bikes) ... Any thoughts?
I'd like to be able to hit 30mph, have a budget of about €900 for the kit, and €1,000 for the bike... I know being stealthy is important so will be going for a rear wheel kit with pannier and bags to cover some of the wheel and to hold battery etc...
Would these options be a good match for the Paratrooper?:
Have narrowed my search down to a 48V 15AH or 20AH LifePo4 Battery. Definitely want a 1000W 48V motor.
I already have quotes from quite a few suppliers in China....
Any thoughts on these:
Full Kit 1:

OR
Full Kit 2:

just conversion it:

plus separate battery:
something similar to this: https://www.bioennopower.com/?page_id=3017
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Cheers!
