Hello from Utah!
Name's Matt.
I have decided to pick up road biking due to losing my car recently - Situation beyond my control. I am looking for a cheap(read: $300 or less) bike. I have read up on https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER for the past few days and like the reviews I have read. However, I do not know if it would be a mistake. I am 6'1, 218lbs with a 31'' inseam. From what I've read, i should seek something between 56-58.
Any suggestions? I am in need of something immediately and so time is of the essence.
Thanks!

Cheers Matt, welcome to Bike Forums.
Generally speaking, you can get better quality if you buy a $300 used bike, compared to $300 brand new. Finding the right used bike and making sure it's in reasonable condition can take time though, so it may not suit you right now.
Is there a particular reason you're only interested in road bikes?

Not in particular. I've ridden one before and enjoyed how it felt, how it moved. I am going to be commuting to work, 6 miles each way(although I may occasionally utilize the bus). I'm still leaning towards the bike in the link I provided, as I am not going to be doing any long-distance rides(yet) or going crazy. just a simple commute to and from work. I am, of course, always open to suggestions.
