Hi all. Meg here. I used to ride bikes for fun as a kid. Now that my daughter will be turning a year old, I want to get back into riding them for exercise and fun. I'm just wanting to ride around the neighborhood (it's a long walk from my house to the neighborhood pool!!!). I'm just here to browse and lurk for a bit, but imagine I'll be posting some as well. I'll be using my husband's old (at least 6 years?) schwinn mountain bike until I see if this sticks and decide it's worth putting money into buying a bike for myself. The lurking will happen while I try to figure out what to do to get the bike set up for my daughter and I to ride. It's been stored (mostly improperly) in the garage for at least the last six years (he doesn't ride much...not sure why he even had it?) so it needs some maintenance. I plan to put an front mounted seat on it for my girl. It also needs new grips (they're gummy and yucky) and I don't have much idea of how to go about doing that, but what else is the interwebz for?

I've rambled enough. Just letting you people know I'm here lurking through your conversations. So hi!
