Howdy to everyone from Central Illinois
I am getting into bikes after not riding much these past few years, Never riding seriously since before I could drive, and after helping a friend find a bike for their daughter.
While shopping, I found a tall green bike, that looked like a nicer bike. I knew nothing about it. I bought it on a whim, and I really enjoy riding it. Much more than I thought I would. I did some online searching to see what I had found. It was a road bike. I have never owned one before, and after learning and riding it, I don't want a mountain bike (last one I had in 2005) or a comfort bike like my wife owns. It's a mostly original except for tires and seat. I found a 1984 Fuji Del Ray. It's the lightest fastest bike I have ever ridden. the Local bike shop is two blocks away, and they were nice with helping me out with a helmet, gloves, water bottle, lots of advice, and info on the first local beginner's group ride. I ride motorcycles a lot (dual sport) and some of the knowledge crosses over, a lot of the commom sense does. I'm mostly here to lurk, and learn. |
