Greetings from Ottawa, Canada
Hello,
Newbie here, I've had my bike for less than a week. I kinda got started through my work, we put a team in an annual charity ride to raise funds for cancer and I decided to sign up this year. The ride is 100km and I've never done anything close to that before. I recently purchased a Giant Rapid 3 hybrid to begin my training, and use for the ride. I've had the bike 6 days and have put 80km on it so far. I'm really enjoying things so far and am glad to have found this forum to answer any questions I may have along the way. Cheers, Jay |
Hi Jay,
Welcome to Bike Forums from Texas. Congratulations on the new bike. Ride as much as you can. You will become stronger very quickly. Rest and take days off when you need them.. Look around and have fun posting. |
Hello Jay, welcome to BF, great to have you here with us. Canadians are very much present in our forums so don't feel lonesome. As 10 Wheels said, ride as many kilometers you can to get your bike strength ready for the Metric, it is doable, just put some miles in to prepare. Find yourself a forum you enjoy and jump in to participate, we have many different interest areas here. We have a Regional Forums section so you can find others to ride and train with and to find activities in your area of Canada. Best of luck in your training for the Metric, the cancer rides are always great ones to join in on.
