Hello from North-mid New Jersey!

Good evening
I have never "been into" bike culture. I have had a SS bike once I was a kid, and a mountain one in early teen ages.
Not so long ago I got attracted to fixed gear bikes a lot. I decided to get one and join The community, but since I know nothing about bikes I started googling and stumbled on this forum.
So, in the nearest future you will get tons of newbie questions from me

Anyway, brevity is the soul of wit, so nice to meet you everyone here!

I haven't been riding for a few years now and I don't have one yet. Well, there is some mountain in garage, which now is too small for me.
I want to start (again) with a fixie and I'm deciding what's gonna be right to do next: get the cheap fixie 'to learn the basics' (say so), or wait a while, get more into it and then build a custom one for myself.

Hi Alex, welcome to BF. Try some reading and post your questions that you have in the Single Speed/Fixed Gear Forum. the folks there can tell you what works best for the particular type for the location where you are riding. The Regional Forum for you area is the best place to find others that are setting up bike rides and other activities. Best of luck on your search for a good SS/FG ride.

Bill
