New to the biking world
I'm 36yrs old (dont know if age really matters) and new to the world of biking. Just picked up my first bike about 1 week ago (Trek 1.2). I'm in the Army and currently stationed in "lovely" Fort Irwin, CA.
I decided to take up road biking to:
1. Get into better shape
2. Kill boredom
3. Why not
I have been stalking to forums for about a month and found it to be useful for a newbie like myself. Also, since I don't have a LBS anywhere close I tried to do a little research before making the almost 2hr drive.
Looking forward to the open roads ahead.

Hi, NS6, welcome to BF. first off, Thank you for serving and for protecting our freedoms, from an old Marine. the Trek 1.2 will be a great bike and should give you a lot of great, happy miles of riding, enjoy them. What is your MOS?

As basic and important as it gets in the order of things. I have a lot of friends in the Army and Corps that are ground pounders, all great guys. Thanks for your service, again!
