look for new Tri bike
I am fairly new to tri/ 70.3's. I just sold my shiv because it was too large for me.... I am looking for a new tri bike... Looking at the Trek 9 series base or the p3 Cervelo. I would love any advice anyone could give. I am shorter 5'1 so I would fit comfortable on the 45 with 650 wheels but I hear not to go that way I should have 700 wheels. I can fit on a 48 but also the smallest Trek would be 47.8 I think and would fit better.... What is the quality on these tri bikes and does anyone have any experience with them. I have a budget and those fit in them. NEED help!!

Welcome to BF! Spend some time in the Tri forum. Your questions will find a much bigger tri-knowledgable audience than here in the Intro section. Good luck with your research and shopping.

Welcome to Bike Forums!
I have a P2 (well, a P2C, which is the same bike, just from a few years back) with 650c wheels. I think it's a 49cm? I'm 5'3. I did this long bike fit process on the Serotta fit cycle (it was pricey, but the price of the fit was knocked off the price of the bike, assuming I bought the bike from that store, which I did), and unless I went custom, all the bikes that matched the specs that worked best from the fit test were 650c. I did test ride a couple 700c bikes, but they felt huge. Now, my road bike is a 700c, but because of the geometry difference of tri bikes, the 700c bikes just didn't fit. |
