cute dog, first off are you now having issues with your shifting that you didnt have before your incident??

secondly, your bike is new? ill bet if you bring it to the shop you bought it from they will fix it for a minimal cost if not free.

and thirdly (is that a word) replacing a cable housing is not very difficult. if you were planning on trying your hand at bicycle maintenance at all this is a perfect opportunity. Worst case scenario, you try, you fail, then you bring it to your lbs for help.

There is a good chance your shifting will not be affected by this. Its hard to see in the picture but if its only the outer plastic casing that separated and the inner metal coils are intact, you should be fine.
