Hey... pretty amped to be here... I have been riding for 3 years, this coming spring will be my 4th. I have a 2010 Trek Madone 4.2 that I bought brand new. About 4 years ago, I had a neighbor ask me if I had ever tried cycling. He knew I was an avid runner, but I hadn't been on a bike since I was 12... Needless to say, I was hooked. I did the research and got me a brand new bike! It definitely was a source of tension between my wife and I, due to the $$$$ spent, but I'd say it's probably one of the greatest investments in my health I have ever made. I did over 1,100 miles on my bike last year, I have a Kinetics trainer that I bought this winter and basically I'm hooked... The thing that led me to this forum is I really want to be able to "service" my bike on my own. I finished a 30 miler yesterday and I popped spoked on my rear tire and noticed a bulge on my front tire... I want to know how to fix things and to learn from others who have been doing this longer than me!

Welcome to Bike Forums. The Bike Mechanics forum can help answer many of your questions. Also www.parktool.com is a great resource too. Have fun.

Hello and welcome.

In addition to the already mentioned Park Tool site, there's always www.sheldonbrown.com.
