Old noob stuck in snow
Hello to everyone. Been lurking and learning for awhile. Thanks for all the great info.
Getting into bicycling for the fun and fitness. Last fall my Daughter begged me to go on a bike ride with her, so I aired up the tires on my Cheap Hybrid I bought about 3 years prior and we went I have bad knees that give me a lot of pain but to my surprise after that ride they felt great. At that point I decided that I will be riding as much as possible. I put on 400 miles in about 7 weeks before this crappy winter hit. I am now a committed commuter.

Cheers and welcome!
Crappy winter can be overcome with proper gear. It's a lot tougher going than in summer though. If you're interested, go visit our Winter Cycling subforum.

Welcome to BF! Be sure to thank your daughter, because cycling is one of the best activities (along with swimming) for us bad knee people.

Hi BR46, I high jacked it from my Brother. Evidently he earned it in high school, during his early rock band days. It also plays off our last name.

Hi Lacumo, Yes it is owesome. I was at the VA a couple of days ago and the Ortho Doc. said the same thing. I will need a knee replacement within a couple of years and I know it will be a much easier recovery if my legs are in better shape.
