Hello from Australia
Hi there, glad to have found this forum.
My husband and I are gearing up for some bike touring. We have been sailing in Australia for the last 4 years, have just sold the boat, and bought Vivente World Randonneur bikes.
Our plan is continuous travel. We have had the house, property, boats etc etc, and just now craving to be free. We have done some micro touring before in the US, and traveled extensively but not by bikes.
Specifically we are interested in cycling and using freight ships for passage. I have found lots of resources for ship travel online.
We will be moving off the boat this week into a unit for a month and plan to get in some training. We thought we would ride North from Sunshine Coast area (north of Brisbane) up the Queensland coast during this approaching tropical winter. A bit of a shake down cruise.
My husband is 64 and I am 47. We love our bikes and are really looking forward to meeting other fellow cyclists out there!
Cheers!
Rozzie
