Hi All,

I am new to the Bike Forums, but not to bicycling.

Long distance road bicycling and bicycle commuting are my main interets in bicycling. I live in Southern California which has the type of weather that allows for year round cycling. We have had a wet winter so I have spent more time in the gym than I would like, but I still get out on the road when I can. During a typical week I will average 300 miles of riding. I used to ride more, but I have been running too which cuts into bicycling for physical and time related reasons. The running helps to round out the effects of bicycling from seating for long periods of time on a pencil shaped saddle.

I hope to be able to contribute to this forum. I have recently started a blog on bicycle commuting that allows me organize my thoughts and log my commute activities.

Take Care,
Barb

Welcome, Barb. As an old-timer, I have cut way way back on my mileage and speed. I do about 200 miles a week. I live in Atlanta and can ride year round here as well. Parts of the winter are a little raw for riding, but with the proper dress they are bearable. I have spent some time in So Cal, especially the San Diego area and envy you guys. When I was out there, I spent more time on bikes with a motor.
