Newbie from Olympia, WA

Hi there - I'm Ashley, 25 year old student at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA (South Sound). I need some help finding a used bike, would it be appropriate to post some links to bikes I'm considering here for opinions? If so, which threads would you recommend? Thanks!

Larry from OlyBikes maybe able to steer you to a used bike. I bought a new bike from him 2 years ago and found it to be an ok shop. I have heard Olympia has a good bicycle co-op where you should be able to find a good deal. The co-op should be easy to find. Failing that, consider the Good will, or a thrift shop. Of course there is Craig's List, but I've never used it, be cautious . Your lucky you live in a fairly bicycle friendly city. Good luck , oh and welcome to Bike Forums.

Welcome to BF and +1 on what was said above. Test riding is important because that’s how you’ll find the one that’ll be comfortable to ride, which is the one you want to buy.

With 2 colleges a bike co-op and CL ,you should have easy time of it. make a trip to a local shop to see new bikes then make a list of features and price range for your used dream bike. good luck and welcome
