Hello from LA

Hi, everyone! I'm a biker in the heart of Los Angeles, and there are more of us than you'd think. The smog sucks, but you can feel smug as you zip past the hordes of SUVs that are stuck in traffic. I bike the river paths a lot, also go through Griffith Park, and LOVE the Midnight Ridazz!

But my real biking love is touring. In the summer of 1993 I rode from San Francisco to Dixie, Idaho with only $50, using panniers that I made out of plastic 5-gallon bulk bins. I was hooked. These days I mostly travel on PCH whenever I have a few days free, and camp at the hiker/biker sites. I also try to do a big bike trip through Italy (where I used to live) every couple of years. I'm interested in history and culture, and I always try to learn about the places I ride through. If there's a language barrier, all the better!

I'm leaving on April 25th, 2005 to ride along an ancient Roman highway from Rome to Brindisi, and hopefully Adventure Cyclist is going to publish the story. One of my dreams is to circle the Mediterranean on a bike.

Heeelooo...

Ooo... Midnight Ridazz? I've been wanting to go soooo bad. Did you do the one-year anniversary ride? I didn't get to b/c I used to be in love with this LA messenger who has lots of friends at the Bicycle Kitchen and I needed some space--but I went to *****en the last time they had it... trying to be autonomous from the dude, but still keeping up with my bikeness. Hehe. You might know him. That would be funny.

Yeah, I know a lot of messengers, maybe I know him. Did you ever let him know what's up?
