Newbie in Seattle

Hey guys,
Just happened upon this site, looking for ways to determine holiness in a tube or tire. I bought my Trek 800 last summer wanting to get back on a bike. Started commuting from Capitol Hill to my home in Ballard. Now I live in Auburn and am having a ton of fun zipping into downtown to catch a bus that gets me home nearly an hour earlier than I got home waiting for the first connector bus.

I am looking forward to upgrading eventually but I have to say the 800 is a fairly decent bike for a noob. Right now I'm a interested in learning the basics, upkeep, tune ups, fixing tires, upgrading brakes and handlebars, that kind of thing. I love the helpfulness of the people on this site and can't wait to be a contributing member of the site. Thanks for the info guys!!

Hello and welcome!

Park Tool Co. Park Tool Co. and Sheldon Brown-Bicycle Technical Information are great resources when you have a specific mechanical problem at hand. Our Bicycle Mechanics forum is good for any and all questions, lots of knowledgeable people there.

To err is human. To moo is bovine.

Who is this General Failure anyway, and why is he reading my drive?
