New guy to bike forums

Hello all,

My name is Darrell and I have been an active bike commuter for 7 months. Once I got out the military I was in a it of a financial bind with a family and only a part time job. Since my job is 8 km from home, I figured it was time to ditch the car and bike commute. The bike I started commuting with is a 2013 Trek Domane 2.0. The Domane 2.0 has been upgrade with Michelin Pro 4 Endurance tires, Clark's performance brake pads, Shimano 105 quick releases, and Fizik 3mm bar tape. I recently picked up a 2014 trek 3700 which I will be using for commutes as well. My plan is complete in a endurance race by the end of the year. Other than that, I looking to learn as much as I can about commuting and cycling.

Welcome to bike forums
When I ride my bike I feel free and happy and strong. I'm liberated from the usual nonsense of day to day life. Solid, dependable, silent, my bike is my horse, my fighter jet, my island, my friend. Together we will conquer that hill and thereafter the world.

Cheers Darrell, welcome to the Forums!

To err is human. To moo is bovine.

Who is this General Failure anyway, and why is he reading my drive?
