Hello from Amesbury Massachusetts!!!
Hello everyone, my name is Jim, and I just joined this forum today. Since I used this forum while I was searching for my road bike, I thought I should join, and contribute where and when I can.
I have ridden bikes since I was 10 years old (Peugeot then Bianchi). I went to mountain bikes while in college in Boston and stayed with them. 30 since my last road bike I just bought a road bike agan... a used but beautiful condition Lemond Étape. As you already know, aluminum frame, carbon fork, low end components (24 speed). But, I fell in love with the geometry of the bike the first time I test road it.

My current bikes:
1994 GT Avalanche
1996 Marin Monocoque
2005 Lemond Étape

Thanks, I purchased a couple small LED lights (red & white), to be on the safe side, and my new helmet and gloves are being shipped to me as I type. Now I can turn my mountains bikes, back into off road machines, as I've been running narrow slicks on them for years.

Thanks! I am blessed with some beautiful roads just out side my door. Southern New Hampshire, and along it's coast up to Maine is spectacular. I have always enjoyed these roads in my sports car ('91 Miata) but now I am experiencing them again on the road bike.

Took the new steed to work this morning. 24 miles, at an average pace of 18mph. I must say, the new bike felt really good. And, I used my clipless pedals/shoes... I remembered how to use them after 20 years, no problem!
