Greetings from Ft Worth, TX
My wife and I had our bikes in the shed for at least 20 years. We got them out and are having them tuned. Mine is a '79 Schwinn World Sport, and hers a early 80's Raleigh Rapide. Mine has handlebar foam that's old and messed up, so I need either tape or foam. Her's his tape but very thin and uncomfortable to me.
I can't decide on foam or tape, because I can find foam, but no very little about tape. Wife is cheap and pretty much doesn't care about upgrading. Amazon has a SRAM Supercork for $14 that has good reviews. Can we get a discussion going about tape/foam so I can learn? All input is welcomed.

Welcome to BF. Glad to hear about you dusting off the bikes. I use gel tape which provides cushioning. It is not the cheapest though.

Welcome to Bike Forums.
72 y/o here.
I have found that old tubes wrapped on the bars, then wrap with new bar tape works fine for old hands.

Welcome to Bike Forums. The bike shop thats doing the tuneup can put the tape on for you. They should have several types to select from.

Thanks for the welcome party...And I ended up getting light blue foam which is what originally came on it new. The bike is Pearl blue so it looks pretty cool..
