Greetings from Central Florida
I am 62 years young.
Retired and have rediscovered my love for all things 2 wheeled.
I recently was not well and found myself getting chewed on by my MD about my 270 lbs 6'0 frame. He got my attention and I have lost 105 lbs and aim to keep it off.
I found a Giant Iguana 92 vintage on Craigslist for $50 so I bought it to find out if I like bicycles or not after many years away from them.
My last new bike was a Schwinn Le Tour in 1974. Anyway the frame on this Giant is too small, but I have found I enjoy learning to tinker with it and a casual ride around the area is quite satisfying. I am learning to adjust the RD and FD and brakes ect ... put new tires on it and find this very rewarding. I look forward to getting a newer and better ride soon... still absorbing all the new technology but frankly, most of it is not necessary for my lifestyle.
Who knows? Looking at Trek, Cannondale and Fantom dual sport models...... like them alot. But you know how things work out... I make end up on a unicycle.
Well, enough about me and my $50 bike.

Welcome to Bike Forums from west central FL. I'm 69 and recently bought a Cannondale CAAD 10. Awesome ride.
Come on over to the Withlacoochee Trail if you want a nice ride.
And stop by the Southeast Regional subforum and say hello to the locals.

Howdy Oldman...
I just finished a 100 mile ride in Central Florida along the Van Fleet trail.
If you're near Clermont, Clermont Bicycles is an awesome place... the owner is a rarity in the world. Honest, sincere & doesn't try to convince you to buy more bike than you need.
I happen to know that he has a 2nd hand steel roadbike in the back in great shape. It'd be worth checking out if you're on a budget.
I'm not a shill for them. I just go treated really well by them when I was down there a couple of weeks ago.
Good job on the weight loss! You lost a whole person!
