somewhat new cyclist with shifter questions

hey everyone -- i'm new to the cycling scene - and i'm a cyclist on a budget
I figured I wound't need anything crazy like carbon fiber EVERYTHING... so i just went to WalMart and picked myself up a Genesis Road Bike -- its fairly decent - it has a Shimano Tourney rear derailleur and a Shimano front derailleur (not sure what kind... or that it even matters)

anyway - it has served me well and i've put a couple hundred miles on it this past year (which isn't crazy, but i'm happy with it)

Here's where I come to you guys for help....
when i bought the bike, it came with suicide shifters on the downtube - i'm not happy with it, so i found a set of Shimano Dura Ace brifters on ebay for super cheap
I was just wondering if there's a way to see if those brifters are compatible with the tourney rear and front derailleurs.

If anyone can help, that'd be awesome -- or if someone can point me in the right direction, that'd be great too.

I know I know - "use the search bar" and i plan on doing that -- But I just thought that with my introduction, I could get this question out of the way too...

because in order to kill two birds with one stone... you just need a really big rock

thanks! upon reading further, it seems that i dont have a set of Dura Ace brifters, instead they are Sora 3 x 7 brifters
snagged both of them on eBay for $35 shipped to my door -- sooooo that works for me
looks like i'll need to pick up some new longer shifter cables and throw those on. Shouldn't be too TOO difficult...... right? haha

anyway - i'm liking what i see on this forum - seems to be a great community here
also @Lacumo where in NY are you?
