Never watch that show, but from what I hear it doesn't resemble us! My name is John and my wife Denise and I ride a tandem. I ride regularly now with a club on Saturday mornings - OC Velo. Looking to gain some hill climbing capability so I can keep up on club rides and power our tandem better. Looking forward to chatting will you all.

Hi Sipperphoto,
I just started riding with OC Velo in December. We start at Worthy Park in Huntington Beach on Sat mornings at 7:30 (regular group ride on various routes, generally down PCH to river trail or Jamboree then inland), 8am on Sunday at the pier (easier family type ride down PCH to back bay), and 6am on Tues and Thurs at the the pier (fast training ride to Newport Coast hill). I know John (?) who rides tandem in OC Rebel Riders, he teaches Spin here at the Boeing Rec Center. Is that the same club you ride with? They usually do a half way coffee stop on Warner right near my house on Saturdays. Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome to another OC rider. Do you work at Boeing in HB? I worked there for a while like everyone else it seems. I ride the bike trail from Santa Ana or where I work in Orange nights and weekends. I haven't visited the new member forum in a few months, it's good to see local people here.

Hi 1955,
Yeah I work at Boeing HB. Boeing is now a mixture of Rockwell and McDAC. I am heritage Rockwell (El Segundo and Downey). OC Velo Saturday rides sometimes go up the River Trail to the cutoff at the 405 Fwy and we then go east toward Irvine on Alton Parkway. Maybe I'll see ya' sometime!
