Rode my old Record 2 weeks ago and hurt for days afterwards! Currently looking to buy a Townie or Trek Verve 3. Any suggestions?

Keep riding the Record...Limit rides to 5 miles. til your old body adjusts to it.

Welcome to BF! Maybe try to figure out what put you into pain when you rode the old Raleigh? It might have been the bike itself, but it could also have been the saddle, what you were wearing (some clothing and footwear can be surprisingly punishing), the condition you were in at the time of the ride, the length of the ride, the condition of the road(s) that you rode on, I don’t know how many other things or any combination of all those things. The bike itself may or may not (?) be guilty enough to warrant replacement...

Welcome to Bike Forums. I'm 69 and love my road bikes.
Maybe you need to go bike shopping for a "nice" road bike.
