Interesting weather thread back in early March. We always think we have the worst climate but it was good to be reminded that there are always others worse off. Also very envious of those in warmer climes
who were describing weather in March , which was pretty much like our one summers day, we usually get, maybe in August . It's about 7 degrees centigrade (45F) here in the North East of Scotland, misty and cold. I'm still using the mountain bike, too wet and muddy for roadie.

Welcome to the greenhouse effect. ;)

And welcome to the forums too. I hope your weather gets better soon. We're finally able to see continuous sun in Chicago, so it's road bike weather. I've almost retired my beater bike.

I feel for ya mate. I'm from Newcastle, although I've been living in Chicago for the last ten year. I remember all too well the incessant rain and wind of the North East coast. Concentrate on the fact that you can probably ride just 20 mins and be on a sweet, quite road in beauitiful countryside. While we on the otherhand need to ride a good hour just to get out of the city.

You're so right about the quiet roads. Right on my doorstep! Somedays in the summer if I ride to work
setting off around 6.15am, I maybe only meet one vehicle in the 9 mile trip. That's the big advantage,
but you really long for feeling the heat on yer back and maybe even gettin tanned legs. In recent years
we've holidayed in France, taking my bike over and riding at the height of the day. What a contrast to home here in Scotland.
