Hey guys/gals. I recently found my dad's '76 Schwinn Super Le Tour rusting in the woods behind the barn. I am attempting to restore it and ride and quickly realized that I need help. I have NO CLUE what I'm doing. Haven't ridden a bike since childhood (I'm 34). Looking forward to chatting with you!

Welcome to BF and good luck with your project. If that bike was outdoors for an extended period of time, you might want to get a situation eval from a good LBS. You might be looking at terminal rust or a rehab project that’d cost more than it’d make sense to spend on it. Good luck with it.

The frame barely has any rust. Just minor surface. I bought an old schwinn traveler minus wheelset with period components in great shape for $40. Hope it works! Thanks for the welcome, guys!
