Hey everybody. My wife and I are registered to ride the 130 mile Italian L'Eroica for the first time in a couple of weeks. I'm concerned about our gearing for the 20% climbs. We live in Florida but drive up to the NC mountains from time to time.
My bike is a1975 Spainish made Macario with 52/42 on the front and 14/24 on the rear.
I am 59 and reasonably race fit. AmI going to die?
We really don't want to have to walk one foot of it but I heard the climbs are no more
than 1-3 miles.
Any advice from those who have ridden the long course?

It's been a long time since I have had to ride hills. Just take you time and use those small gears.
Good luck!

Welcome to Bike Forums. Stop by the Southeast Regional subforum and say hello to the locals. Lots of FL folks here.
