Hi from DC

Hello!

Just wanted to introduce myself. I've always been a casual road cycler, mostly alone to tell the truth, but I haven't been out in over a year due to a nagging shoulder injury. After finally finding a capable doctor that diagnosed my torn labrum, I am rearing and ready to go. I guess it is one of those "you don't know what you've got until it's gone" things, but as I've been recovering, I just keep thinking about getting back in the saddle.

I figured I'd join a community to help me push my previously-casual (now sendentary) self to new heights! So howdy everyone.

Full disclosure I joined cyclechat yesterday, but it seems to be only Britons! This forum seems much more active for 'Murica.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm "rocking" a Fuji Roubaix 1.0. Got it from a friend when he moved away 4 years ago, and have been loving it.

Note that "rocking" currently means its been languishing for months while my shoulder has been killing me.

Probably will spin this winter (in about 2 months once I've done PT), in preparation for an aggressive spring/summer. I'm getting married in May, so I basically need to get back in the saddle to make sure I'm looking my best!

I have a bit of a shoulder issue myself. I crashed back on June 1st and separated my left shoulder. Almmost 2 months off the bike in the middle of some of the best summer riding weather in years.

Heal fast!
