Hi from St Pete FL
Hey all. A about 2 years ago I got on a huge single speed kick so I've been riding single speed for 2 yrs and 4-5 months fixed gear. That is until I saved a Nishiki from the scrap yard a few weeks ago for $10. I put new tires and tubes on it and started a modest restoration that is ongoing. The Nishiki reminded me of how much I enjoyed a Schwinn Varsity I had early in college that I foolishly and regrettably traded in for store credit at a LBS. Anywho, I'm vintage at heart and have been thoroughly enjoying working on and riding my Nishiki as well as building a Panasonic for my girlfriend. I ride 15-20 miles every morning through town and it's my favorite way to start the day.
Hopefully one day I'll known enough to gather a quality collection of bikes, but for now, I'm enjoying what I put together with my own hands and my own wallet.
I look forward to learning more about bikes, the community and the sport at large.
