New Tandem rider

So I am a long time bike rider, but mostly ride alone. I finally met a woman who shares most on my interests (traveling, diverse food, kayaking, biking), but she can't keep up with me in a kayak or a bike. Found that a tandem kayak was the solution. We had no problem adjusting to working as a team.

We tried a tandem bike and we enjoyed it. Just bought a used one and I'll see how it works out. Maybe we'll trade up one day.

Don't see many tandem riders in Washington DC area (had to take a road trip to buy a used one)

Welcome to Bike Forums!

I often ride with a married couple who love their tandem. They average around 7500 miles per year riding together.
