Hello from Canada Ontario
II often read allot on the forums here and thought id sign up finally, I recently built a custom bike, I used to ride a specialized hard tail sport for years with and without shocks, carbon forks.. I mostly use them in the summer with 1.50 slicks, nice for the speed, the shocks currently on this new build are Manitou maverick pros 120mm 9QR. the build took about 2 months, sourcing and shipping. am pretty stoked about its performance on and off road. the pics here are of her bein a little dirty after a ride, next time ill clean her up lol she weighs 22lbs as is, less if I switch forks. Aside from the weight, its a zippy bike and a blast to be on. It was a bit of an adjustment from my old specialized frame T70xx aluminum, I'll never go back to any metal frames agian, it flexes less too .... Somehow ..any who hello everyone.

Hi Niblix,
Welcome to Bike Forum. Do you get a chance to ride much now that winter is starting to grip Ontario?

I ride almost every day Mielle, luckily for me I live below the snowbelt in the most southern part of Ontario and most years its fairly mild with only 3 or 4 snowfalls along with mild snow flurries, although last year was one of the worst winters in a long time. This year I ordered Schwalbe Marathon winters 1.75s still waiting for them as we speak actually ... I got them on sale, I had to get them ! Lol.

I too am lucky to be in Canada's only city with no snow plow and no snow..... Victoria BC. We had a dusting on Saturday morning but by other Canadian city standards it was nothing. There are actually snow tires for bikes? Guess I just learned something new.
I just got back on my Mongoose Tetra SX today for the first time in a month due to a back issue. Good ride this morning and afternoon home. A cold, crisp late fall ride with no slips or falls.

Thanks everyone !
yuppers Mielle they sure do make winter tires, they have carbide tips in the tread for gripping ice, these particular tires are semi road tires with 200 carbide tips per tire. Some tires have upwards to 300 plus carbide tips to as little as 100, wide or narrow, even deep tread for off road only. Depends really on your biking style! Glad to hear your back is better
