Mr. Fletcher Hart

Just call me Fletch and I live in Jax., Fl. I am 65yrs. old and my cardiologist as advised me to get out doors more and get more exercise. I had open-heart surgery a few years ago and they messed up a lots of things inside me. The getting out would be good for me. I am retired after my surgery. I was in construction! I thought the best was to get out and get some exercise would to get me a 26" men's bike. Since I have some back and leg problems I will need electric assist. I want a KENT 26" DEL RIO MEN'S CRUISER BIKE at WALMART. It has a seven speed, aluminum frame but steel forks! I weight 165lbs. and wondering what electric assist kit to buy. I want some where around 300 to 500 watts, 24 or 36 volts. Since I have arthritis in both hands I'm guessing I had better get a front-hub-motor, because they are easier to work on. I'm on a fixed income and was wondering could any of the members advise me on what electric kit to buy. I have read that E-BIKE KITS are good but there are so many out there!!! So, if anyone out there has some advice to help out this ole man, it, most surely, would be appreciated!!! All have a nice holiday season, sincerely, Fletch in Jax., Fl. p.s - my email is fbooger49@yahoo.com and I hope this is not against the rules!!!!

Welcome to Bike Forums from a 70 year old in west central Florida.
Stop by the 50+ forum for advice on a bike. I have to say, go to a bike shop and get a bike. Any bike from Walmart or a big box store will be a HUGE disappointment to you.
How much is your health worth??

If you want to meet locals then stop by the Southeast Regional subforum. Lots of FL folks on here.
