Hello froml Ohio

Hello all, I've been lurking here for a month or so and decided I'd take the plunge and register to start the new year.

I'm fairly new to this biking-as-an-adult thing, I picked up a Trek 8.2 DS back in August. My wife saw how much fun I was having and, after some strong hinting, she got a 7.2 FX to keep mine company. Since it's been a relatively nice winter so far, we've been accumulating a few miles when we can.
So far, I've not ridden more than about 15 miles in one session, but I've set a goal to ride at the Central Ohio Tour de Cure, 30 miles with my wife if she decides to go, 60 miles if she doesn't. I've got a little bit of training ahead of me, but I know I can do it without looking like too much of a putz.

Happy New Year, here's to seeing a lot more of the road without a windshield in the way

If you're living in central ohio, you have great biking trails throughout the city and county. The Olentangy Trail is almost 19 miles long. They've recently connected the Alum Creek trail with the Big Walnut trail so you can ride from Deleware county all the way to Three Creeks Metro park in southern Franklin county. The surrounding rural roads are good riding also. Most bike shops in Columbus carry free bike maps of the county that specify the good roads to ride from the bad ones.

Thanks all for the welcome!
@scoatw - I've ridden about half the Olentangy Trail, starting from the N end down to Lane Ave. I work in Hilliard, so I've ridden from work to the south trailhead of the Heritage Trail, all the way out, and back. Other than those two, I've mostly been out around my neighborhood for ~5mile jaunts when I find the time. The Alum Creek trail is the next one in my sights, after I've done the Olentangy in it's entirety
