stumbled across this site while searching for something bike related, and cannot believe all the cool postings I've read. anyway, little about myself.
live in south eastern part of IL. 31 year old male. been riding bike since I was 10, but really seriously for about six years now. Like to participate in numerous charity rides (no racing, as I don't really have the pencil thin physique). biggest and best ride has been the Trek 100 in Milwaukee, WI which I have done twice.
my weapons:
2002 Trek 8000 mountain bike
2003 Trek 2300 road bike
???? Trek 5200 road bike (guessing that it's a 2002 or newer).
I know that's overkill for 1 man to have 3 bikes. but I had been very satisfied with my Trek 2300, but then I stumbled across a deal for the 5200 that I just couldn't pass up. was used, the owner was moving to a cold climate place and where his job would take most of his time, so he let me purchase it for $1000. wow!!! seeing as my 2300 cost $1750, didn't have to sweet talk the wife very much at all to get it.
so, glad to be here, and hope to add some interesting posts/replies in the future.
