Hi
Old and retired cyclist living in North Staffordshire, UK. Cycling since 1951 starting with a Rudge Pathfinder then onto an assortment of classic lightweights, club riding, touring, time trials, road and track racing not with much success but have enjoyed it all.
Now riding with the Cheshire Section of the Vintage Cycling Club with monthly rides plus regular potters when the weather suits.
Most rides are 25 to 40 miles with plenty of stops for drinks and food. Cheshire has many good traditional pubs and hostelries most of which welcome cyclists and hikers. There are many miles of pleasant lanes in Cheshire and surrounding counties of Shropshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire with a good choice of flat or hilly routes.
Present bikes are mostly 40'S to 60's racing lightweights; Raleigh Record Ace, Bates Vergrandis, Holdsworth La Quelda and Cyclone,
Claud Butler Avant Coureur, Viking Severn Valley, LH Brookes, Henry Burton, Bob Jackson and Falcon San Remo. All in rideable condition but now set up with 'Granny gears' to suit my vanishing muscles!
Regards
