Buying a Condo for your car??
Folks. This is insane. People have so much money, they are buying condos for their cars! I guess with the price of cars going for these days, you practically have to buy a condo because leaving them out on the street would attract crooks like flys to honey. Buy a flat screen TV for your car?

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Ever think of buying a condo -- for your car?
It's an idea that seems to be catching on in Florida.
Three car condo developments are scheduled to open in South Florida by the end of 2007, and developers said they've already sold more than 20 percent of the units.
They're places where serious car enthusiasts can store their vehicles in individual, weatherproof, air-conditioned garages with 24-hour security and concierge services.
David deMartino just bought one in Fort Lauderdale, to house his collection of vintage cars and motorcycles. The 760-square-foot, one-bathroom condo cost him more than $200,000. And he's adding custom flooring and cabinets and a flat-screen TV.
DeMartino said having a safe place to keep his prized possessions gives him "peace of mind."

You can rent an studio in just about any city in the United States for $800.00 dollars! It's a joke what people are paying for their motorcars. Keep this in mind. You still can't drive those luxury cars on the road because anywhere you park, you'll face the same dilemma.

When I bought my condo last year I bought a parking space with it even though I don't have a car. I believe, to paraphrase Charlton Heston, that you will have to pry the keys from their cold dead hands first.
Parking in my neighborhood is tough and will only get worse as the area to the North of me gets developed over the next 2 years. For now I can rent out the space to cover my costs. If circumstances somehow change in the future and I need a car - I won't necessarily have to move. And in the end - I believe it will be easier to resell my place w/parking than it would be without!

Apartment? When I got married eight years ago; we rented a three bedroom home for little over $400 a month. Very nice in a good neighborhood I might add.
