Car Free Goal Milestone
For the last two weeks
I have more miles on
my bicycle(s) than on
my Car.
Bicycle(s) => 195
Car=> 43
I may have done this
many times before, but
it just sunk in this week.

Good going. You've almost hit the 100 mile per week mark on your bike. That's a milestone worth celebrating, and a good indication that you're getting ready to ditch your car.

Thought I would resurrect this thread rather than start a new one, but I suprised myself today when I walked outside and thought, "wow, I haven't started my truck in about 2 weeks." So, I started and let it run a couple minutes just to make sure it still would in the cold. Then I shut it off, hung the keys back up, hopped on my bike and left

i know i'm not a hard core car-free like some of you...
but a milestone for me is when a tank of gas now lasts me about two months.
you really start looking at things differently and seeing the waiste and stupidity of cars lined up in rush hour traffic... or the ridiculous cycle of too many cars- conjestion- road construction- that most just dont even think about.
my absolute favorite is when i make it home quicker on my bike than i ever did in my car.

I am carfree but I drive my father's car a little to take him to doctor's appts. aand so forth. A carfree milestone for me was the realization that i put more miles on my bike in one week than I put on his car in an entire year.
